******** NOTICE FROM THE PUBLISHER ****************

Please forgive the delay in getting this issue out. We have decided to stop publishing Consider your Ways.  Our family is in the process of moving out of state and we will be unable to continue the difficult work of publishing and mailing.  Our entire ministry is being transferred to another family.  Our books and many back issues of our other periodicals will continue to be available from the new publisher.
Nicole is quite somber and sad about stopping this work. She plans to continue to write and we hope to have some small booklets of stories available for publication sometime in the future.

                 Little Things

    Little drops of water,
    little grains of sand,
    make the almighty ocean
    and the pleasant land.

    Thus the little minutes,
    humble though they be,
    make the almighty ages
    of eternity.

    Thus our little errors
    lead the soul away
    from the path of virtue
    off in sin astray.

    Little deeds of kindness,
    little words of love,
    make this world an Eden
    like the Heaven above.

Mamma's Advice

Joyous winter time has arrived. We have lots of snow outside and the children all love to play out there. Do you always remember to wear your mittens, your hat and your coat? Sometimes children don't realize how cold it is and they would rather run outdoors in summer clothes!
Have you ever seen someone wearing shorts in the winter? It isn't a good idea! You will get so sick! Be certain that you are dressed warmly and do not complain when Mamma tucks in your collar with a nice warm scarf.
I can just imagine you all coming in the house for hot cocoa and marshmallows! Be sure to clean your room and tidy the house before you go outdoors. This will warm your Mamma's heart more than a heater!
Before I go, I want you always to remember that the best warmth comes  from kind hearts. If we are cold and mean to others, it will give them a chill and they may very well become ill because of it!

    Bedtime Story

With Suzy and  Peterson  by Nicole White

"Why don't we give this?' Suzy asked. She was sitting on the counter-top, holding a can of peas. She wrinkled up her nose. "I hate peas!" She exclaimed.
They were gathering things to give away to charity, for poor families.  And Suzy hated peas!! But her Mother shook her head.
"No, Suzy.  We must give our best to the poor families. They like nice things too."
    "Oh," Suzy looked doubtful.
"How would you feel," asked Mamma, `if we were poor and all the people gave us was peas and rejects?" She placed a cake mix into a large box.
"Well . . I guess I'd be sad," Suzy answered quietly, climbing down from the counter.
"Alright then! Let's make them happy!"  Said Mamma, taking the box to the car.
Suzy looked in the cupboard. Maybe they'd like some cookies instead, she thought, tucking the bag inside another box.
Meanwhile....... Peterson was gathering clothes to give away.  Mamma came over to see him tossing clothes into a trash bag.
"Peterson? What's this?" She asked, pulling a dingy blue vest out of the bag.
"It's a vest for the poor people," he shrugged.
Mamma started the lecture again. "Sweetie. . we're supposed to give some of our best to the poor families. We can't give them things with holes. How would you like it if someone gave you a vest like this?" She handed it to him.
"Well, I guess I wouldn't like it. My feelings would be hurt." He admitted.  "But what do we do with it?"
"Throw it away," said Mamma. Peterson tossed it into the trash.
"We must never consider helping less fortunate people to be a burden." Mamma wisely told him. Peterson nodded.
Mamma drove them to the nearest charity drive. Suzy and Peterson had to carry most of the things because their Mom had to carry baby Lydia.
They entered the big building. It was dark inside with only some shelves and one big desk and chair.
"We have some things we'd like to donate," said Mamma to the nice old lady behind the desk.
"Oh, yes. Of course." The old woman came over to look at their offerings. "Oh, you give such nice stuff!  People usually don't give nice things at all. They just give what nobody else wants. Thank you!" She exclaimed.
"We're glad we can help." Said Suzy's Mom nicely.
Suddenly, Suzy was glad she didn't give the store-brand peas. The poor family would like a little treat of cookies, she was sure!
It always feels nice to share with people who have less than you. And remember...... share good - special things!

It's your turn to help! Make a list of all kinds of things you'd like to give to charity!
