The Purpose of Young Maiden Monthly is to promote a peaceful home life, to encourage and inspire our young ladies to godliness and to share our lives with one another through our writings. We want our girls to LOVE home and home life, and to focus their energies on making home the haven it was designed to be. "Meditate on that which is lovely" is our motto Each issue includes: ~ Ideas for industry: Keeping busy at home; saving and handling money, etc. ~ Kitchen, the heart of home - Cooking and baking; how to serve lovely meals; how to enjoy meal-time; meal planning, pantry; organizing the kitchen, scheduling meals; holiday foods; cooking for others (as a business or as hospitality), Including children in the kitchen; observations of meals and kitchen work in other homes, etc. This section is written by Mrs. Helen DeBruin- an Australian mother of three children. ~ Homekeeping: organizing; decorating, gardening, yards, cleaning, schedules, plans and ideas for homekeeping; memories of helping mother; other homes observed that bring inspiration and more. This section is written by Mrs. Sarah Walsh - a young wife who has not yet been blessed with children. ~ Spiritually inspiring articles from contributors (we want to hear from our readers on this!) ~ Humorous stories of homemaking / life at home / children, etc. (from our readers) ~ Section for free ads: Businesses, ministries, publications, etc from our readers. ~ Advice for daughters: Written by Mothers and Grandmothers (We would love to hear from our readers for this section!) ~ Being a lady: Manners; appearance; kindness; quotes; biography of a lady in history who we can learn from; blessing our family - siblings/ parents/ grandparents; hospitality, etc. ~ Poetry ~ Mother / Daughter journal: A mother and her 11 year old daughter share their daily life and how they are learning about homemaking. (This section is also open for guest writers. If you are a Mother with a young daughter [age 10 - 20] and would like to share about your daily life, please send us your article! We'd love to hear from you!) ~ Observations from a homeschool Graduate - This is written by the editor's 17-year old daughter, Nicole White. She will be sharing advice; giving book and movie reviews; sharing memories of her own education; talking about her siblings; describing the precious relationship she has with her Nana and Grandpa (who live with us); her daily life; her home-business endeavors (art/ photography/ fashion design, etc); working in her family's country store; and much more......
